EXAMPLE 2.1: SPHERE IMPACT ON THE CORNER EDGE OF A COMPOSITE PLATE
A steel sphere of diameter D = 2 cm impacts on the corner edge of a PW S-2 Glass/SC15 composite plate of dimensions L x W x H = 8 cm x 8 cm x 1 cm with an impact velocity of V = [Vx,Vy,Vz] = [300,300,0] m/s. The plate is modeled with ten parts, PID = 101 to 110 with material orientation BETA = [0,90]_5 degrees. The unit system cm-gm-us-10MN -100GPa -100kJ [cgu] is used in this example. EXAMPLE 2.2: PLATE IMPACT ON THE CORNER EDGE OF A COMPOSITE PLATE
An elastic steel plate of dimensions L x W x H = 20 cm x 4 cm x 1 cm impacts on the corner edge of a PW S-2 Glass/SC15 composite plate of dimensions L x W x H = 8 cm x 8 cm x 1 cm with an impact velocity of V = [Vx,Vy,Vz] = [300,300,0] m/s. The plate is modeled with ten parts, PID = 101 to 110 with material orientation BETA = [0,90]_5 degrees. The unit system cm-gm-us-10MN -100GPa -100kJ [cgu] is used in this example.
The FE model file for the sphere "004-700-Sphere-Dia-2-7M1.key" is replaced with the elastic steel plate file "004-700-PLATE-20x4x1-7M1.key."
